DO YOU OFFER THERAPY?
- I currently offer supportive therapy to residents located in Yukon, Canada. However, my work is largely based on education, support, and consultation. If you or your child are in need of clinical support, or you feel situation is an emergency, please consult with your medical doctor, a mental health clinician local to you, and/or phone your local emergency number (e.g., 911). Please note, that I administer screening tools and you are required to fill out a comprehensive intake form. Should anything of concern present during our work together, I will refer you to the appropriate service or professional as required.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
- I specialize in infant and perinatal mental health. I also hold certifications in infant sleep and reflux, and I am currently pursing a certification in lactation. It is my goal to support families during the early years (0-3 years) in a variety of areas that influence infant-parent health and well-being. More specifically, I utilize my education and experience to provide support, education, and consultation services to caregivers. As well, I:
- Support caregivers in fostering healthy, strong, and positive relationships with their children.
- Help caregivers define their parenting goals, identify obstacles, and support them in creating and implementing a plan of action to achieve those goals.
- Validate parental instincts.
- Take a holistic, developmental, and relational approach.
- Utilize evidence-based practice, as well as, a variety of tools (e.g., screens, motivational interviewing, therapeutic interaction).
- Screen for developmental concerns, offer suggestions to facilitate development, and make referrals.
- Assist with a variety of issues such as parental anger, parental connection, parental childhood, attaining mindfulness, achieving balance, behaviour challenges, discipline, transitions, routines, sleep, infant reflux, breastfeeding, etc…Any issue or question you have surrounding parenting or child development.
Why should I book with you rather than a traditional therapist?
- Mental health and well-being falls on a continuum. Some individuals are on the mild end and benefit from therapeutic interactions such as, active listening, consultation, and education. Whereas, others are on the more severe side and require more intensive treatment. Unfortunately, those who are not deemed urgent often aren’t able to receive support because they don’t meet the clinical threshold. At the same, there aren’t many options for these people. Finally, services are greatly lack during the perinatal period and early years that is developmentally appropriate and holistic in nature. It is my goal to fill the gaps in the current service model and support families in creating healthy beginnings all under one roof.

- I DO NOT sleep train. Please refer here to learn more about my approach to sleep.
